Using the Media Module

The media Module is where you’ll store all of your images and video in Governor. The Media Module is contextualized to each Site, so you won’t have cross pollution of media files. To access your Media Module, click on “Manage Site” from the Sites index page, then click on “Modules” from the left navigation bar. Click “Media” on the ensuing menu. You’ll see three options: Galleries, Settings, and Module Info.

All of your uploaded media files will be stored in Galleries, much like folders on your computer. This way, you can keep all of your Site’s media assets organized on Governor and accessible to any of your content creators at any time.

To access your Galleries, click on “Galleries” from the left side navigation bar. You’ll see a grid of thumbnails that represent all of your existing galleries. To add a New Gallery, click “Add New” in the top right corner.

When you click “Add New” to add a new gallery, you will be asked to give your new gallery a name. Type in the gallery name and click the green check mark. Your new gallery will be added to the grid of galleries. Now it’s time to add some images to your gallery.

Add an image

From the Galleries grid page, click on a Gallery. You’ll see a grid of thumbnails which represent all of the images in that Gallery. To add another image to this gallery, click Add New in the top right corner of the page. You’ll be asked to assign your images to a gallery (if you accessed this page from a gallery page, that gallery will be populated by default. You then have a choice to either drag and drop your image files into the designated area, or browse for your files and choose them from your computer. You may upload multiple image files at the same time. Once you’ve added all of your photos, click “Upload”.

Edit an image

You can edit an image at any time by clicking the “Edit” button in the top right corner of the image. On the edit screen, you can manage the following:

  • Image Title

  • Gallery Select - this allows you to change the gallery that this image lives in as well as add it to more galleries.

  • Image caption - you can add an image caption to any image.

  • Image Tags - This allows you to add multiple tags to an image for easy searchability.

  • Image Link - This allows you to add a link to the image. When clicked on the front end, the user will go to this link.

Add images to a page

You can manage the images that show on your web pages through the image management control on the Content Management Pages.

To add an image to a page, click on the Add Image button in the Image Management Control. This will launch a modal window from which you can choose an image from any of your galleries.

You can also add images from the Media Module directly into any WYSIWYG tool.
