Use this dropdown to select from the site theme’s Page Templates. The page template you select will determine the content you are able to upload.

This will be the title that appears in the navigation of your website.

This determines the “friendly URL” of this page. Normally this will be the same as your Page Name, and it will be pre-filled with the page name by default. This can be changed to a different permalink if desired.

To access the advanced page settings, click on “Show Advanced”. This opens up the following options:

From the Site Map view, click the “Edit” button on the right side of the page row. This will open up the Content Management view for that page. The content editing options on each page will be different depending on the GovTags used in the code on that Page Template.

If an Image GovTag is applied to the page, you will see the image management control in the Content Management System. Click the “Choose An Image” button to add an image or click edit to select a new image. This action will open the Media Module in a modal. Here you can choose an image to use in this spot. To learn more about the Media Module, read the User Manual titled Media Module.

This is a simple text input. This control can be used to manage things like Headlines and subheadlines.

The WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) editor allows you to manipulate multiple lines or paragraphs of text and apply simple styles like italics, bold and underline. You can also select the font (available fonts are dependent upon the fonts contained in your website theme, font size, create hyperlinks and insert images or video into your text block.

Once you’re finished editing your page and you’re ready to save it, you’ve got a couple different options. You can save a Draft or you can Publish the page.

If you’re finished editing your page content for now, but aren’t quite ready for the world to see it, you can save a draft. This will save the page in it’s current state, but will not publish the page to the front end. This is perfect if you need to take a break or you can’t quite get the content finished in one sitting. All of your drafts for the page are saved at the bottom of your Governor Content Management page under the Revisions header. You can view or revert back to any of these previous versions at any time. This will create a new version of the page.

If you’ve finished editing your page content and are ready to put it out there for everyone to see, click the “Publish” button. This will save the page content and publish it to the front end website for your site visitors to see. This action will also save the latest version in your “Revisions” section.

You can preview your page at any time by clicking the “Preview” button in the top right corner of your Governor Content Management page. This will open up a view of the page in a new browser tab but it will not save the page or a draft.

Each Module you have added on to your Governor site has it’s own set of management. To access each Module’s management features, click on the modules tab in the left side navigation. Any Modules you have installed will be shown in the left side menu. To see the management options for each, the name click the Module name in the menu.

After clicking “Edit” on a page in your Site Map view, you can adjust the Page Settings by clicking on the “Settings” button in the top right corner. This will open the Page Settings modal where you have the following options:

Check this box if you’d like this page to be visible on the front end of your site.

Check this box if you’d like this “page” to only show as a navigation parent, with no actual page or content associated with it. For example, if I had a website with a main title of About, with subpages of Team and History and I didn’t want the “Parent” About to actually have a page to click to, I would check this option.

Check this box if you’d like this “page” to only be a navigation item that links to an external page (not a page within your site). If checked, you’ll be asked to input a URL to link to . This will create a navigation item on your website that links to a page off site.

Check this box if you’d like visitor to be required to enter a password to access this page. If checked, you’ll be asked to enter the desired password. This is perfect for showing a private project page to a client.

If this new page is meant to be a sub-page, select the main page that it will fall under. For example, if this new page is "Team" and it needs to be a sub-page of "About", select "About from this dropdown. In the Site Map table, the "Team" page will now be nested underneath "About". You can also do this at a later time by dragging the page on the Site Map view.

Meta descriptions are HTML attributes that provide concise explanations of the contents of web pages. Meta descriptions are commonly used on search engine result pages to display preview snippets for a given page.
