Governor is the last content management system and website authoring platform you will ever need. Using these manuals and watching our tutorial videos will give you all the know-how you need to create and manage all your website projects, no matter how big or small. Let’s get started!
To access your Governor Dashboard, go to http://www.governor.io and click on Login in the upper right corner of the page.
The “Sites” section of your Governor Dashboard allows you to see a grid of all of your sites on Governor, whether they are launched or in production. It is also from this screen that you are able to add a new site.
Viewing Your Sites
You can use the icons in the upper left to switch between a grid view and a list view of your sites.
Search For Sites
You can also use the search feature in the upper right corner to quickly find the site you are looking for.
View A Site
To view any of the sites in your Governor Dashboard, click on the “View Site” button in the upper right corner of each site card (the eyeball icon). This will open the site in a new window, whether the site is live or still in production.
Accessing Site Management Tools
To access management tools for each site, click on the “Manage Site” link as you roll over a site panel in grid view, or click the Action button to the far right of each row in List View, then click Edit. Clicking either of these will open the Site Management Dashboard.
The “Users” section of Governor is like your personal Rolodex for everyone involved with your Governor projects. Use this section to store contact info as well as categorize your users into Companies or Projects. You can also assign specific permissions to your users, allowing them access to certain areas or locking other areas down. To find out more, read the User Manual titled Manage Users.
Viewing Your Users
The All People tab in the left navigation will show a full list of anyone who is involved with any of your Governor projects, whether they are the Account Owner, Content Publisher, Administrator, or Contributors. These names are displayed in an alphabetical list. You can also search the list by clicking into the Search Bar at the top of the alphabetical list, typing in the name and clicking Enter.
User permissions can be managed for each and every person in your system. You have full control over every aspect of what your users can access and what they can’t. For more information, read the User Manual titled Manage Users.
Users can be grouped and viewed in a number of ways. "By Website" will group users according to which website projects they are associated with. For more information, read the User Manual titled Manage Users.
You can find some more navigation options by opening the hamburger menu (the three lines in the top right corner). These options allow you to manage your account and billing options.
Account Settings is where you can change your personal information such as your name, email address, and password as well as your profile image and payment info.
